The PM-Summit is recognised as one of the most successful project management conferences in Germany. Established in 2010 by the PMI Munich Chapter e.V., now PMI Southern Germany Chapter e.V, it has become a trademark for knowledge transfer in professional project management.
In this year the PM-Summit is organized as 2nd national congress of the German PMI Chapters.
With the PM-Summit 2018 the PMI Southern Germany Chapter e.V. addresses the project management community’s continuing demand for networking, exchanging experiences and sharing knowledge. The PM-Summit 2018 offers a platform, which is built around the daily practice and the needs of the delegates.
The congress reaches out to project managers, program and portfolio managers, members of PMOs and project management experts from all industries, all types of projects and all areas of responsibility. The conference welcomes with pleasure interested newcomers to project management, who might start to introduce or implement project management methods in their companies. Moreover, students who like to establish a closer reference to practice and consider a career in project management are invited to participate as well.
The slogan „The Human Success Factor in Projects” highlights the central theme for the conference. Moreover, the presentations should relate to the importance of soft or people skills in addition to processes and existing tools within an environment which is becoming increasingly complex.
The following issues represent examples how the central theme could be addressed: How can you make sure that project teams really collaborate, how can troublesome projects be brought back on a successful track; how can potential resistance of stakeholders already tackled early on? Role owners who possess a highly developed social and emotional intelligence often make a difference. The human factor is the most crucial aspect of projects. Within the central theme the concept of „success factor“ is not limited to traditional approaches which focus on time, cost and quality. Moreover, aspects of modern approaches like work satisfaction, flexible working hours or health-promoting environment are included.
Once again the program structure of PM-Summit 2018 is based on the „PMI talent triangle“:
Moreover, this time the human perspective in the practical project management are also in the focus of the contributions:
